The Chameleon Lives!

A photo I hastily took before heading out on my first ride yesterday:

The frame is a bit bigger than the pink one I had, which is good because the pink one was a tad on the small side. I now feel like I'm riding a Celia-sized bike and not a slightly oversized clown bike! The eccentric bottom bracket is AWESOME because it means I don't have to run a chain tensioner. No more dropped chains! Sweet!

Yesterday's ride was fairly short - I'd recently replaced my 20W halogen on my ghetto homemade light system to a 35W one and the lifespan of the brick-sized battery has reduced considerably! Good thing I knew the trails I was riding fairly well, and they were around 5 minutes ride from home. However, the bike was great (albeit a bit slow and hard to pedal in the sludgy mud) and the frame is really, really nice. I'm pretty excited to have a drink bottle holder mounted to the top of the downtube by the way! Yay no more wiping the mud off my bottle before drinking from it!

The results from the Milton Jailbreak are also out - looks like I came first out of the women by around 8 minutes, and placed 6th overall out of 44 riders (8 minutes down on the guy in first place). Wicked!

The weather isn't looking too good for the long weekend. Rain and snow. I might have to give the rollers that Scotty bought home another go.. wish me luck!

Good luck with the rollers! I completely sucked the first (only) time I've tried. I'd love to try again if only to beat it.
